The 2009 Show Season Starts With a Bang at Goodguys Costa Mesa
Mooresville, NC - The Goodguys show season is off to a  great start thanks to the awesome turnout at Goodguys Costa Mesa that happened March 14th and 15th. DSE was eager to arrive at the show with the new Detroit Speed tractor and trailer that can be seen at all Goodguys shows in 2009.

The cloud filled Saturday morning skies deterred no one as muscle cars, hot rods and customs filled the Orange County fairgrounds before the sun rose on a day where customers and vendors were out in full force to kick off the 2009 season in style.

One of the biggest hits of Saturday was the Autocross. Customers and vendors jammed in line to get their chance to show what they ( and their car ) had at taming the Costa Mesa Autocross in front of hundreds of eager fans. There were old cars, new cars, trucks, and everything in between lining up to make a few runs including the DSE 1969 and 1970 Camaro Test Cars. Throughout the weekend
Kyle, Stacy, and Ryan were more than happy to give existing and potential customers a ride in one of the Camaros and let them get a feel first hand how they handle.

Saturday afternoon on the autocross brought out the warm California sunshine and the ever popular 2nd annual Editor's Autocross challenge. The challenge brings out editors from some of the industry's most recognized magazines to battle it out for year long bragging rights as winner of the Editor's Challenge. Steve Rupp and his Camaro, "Bad Penny" ran a 29.694, narrowly eclipsing Jim Campisano ( 1970 DSE Camaro Test Car - 29.978 ) and former champion, Nick Licata (1969 DSE Camaro
Test Car - 30.107 ) who finished 2nd and 3rd in the event.

Sunday at Costa Mesa started out the same way Saturday ended, with plenty of sunshine and even more cars lined up at the gates to the autocross course. Sunday was also the day that patrons, builders, and vendors are rewarded for all their hard work with awards in numerous categories distributed by Goodguys.

Goodguys Costa Mesa was a wonderful kickoff to the 2009 show season for Goodguys, Detroit Speed, and all of the vendors who came out for the first show of the year. If you didn't get a chance to see the thousands of cars and all the great products from numerous vendors be sure to mark your calendar for the Goodguys show in Pleasanton, CA running from March 28th - March 29th
at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.

Kyle Tucker Captures the Vendor Fastest Time at Goodguys Costa Mesa

What seems to be the norm the past few years at Goodguys shows across the country, Kyle Tucker once again captured the Goodguys award for "Fastest Vendor Time" running a 29.1 in the 1970 DSE Camaro Test Car. The run was Kyle's final run of the Autocross on Sunday afternoon and you could see in his time and his driving that he was poised to bring the trophy back to DSE.

Ryan Mathews of DSE also posted a great time in the 1969 Camaro Test Car running a 29.4. This was the first time the 1969 Camaro ran an autocross with its new Mast Motorsports built LS L99 engine. DSE looks forward to the challenge of putting up their cars and suspension against the top names in the industry. If you missed this one, don't miss the next autocross at Goodguys Del Mar April 3-5th.
