Mooresville, NC – Another great year for Shades of the Past. This year's show marked the 30th anniversary of the Hot Rod Roundup held in Pigeon Forge, TN and every year it just keeps getting better. The 2012 show started out under perfect skies and the crowds did not disappoint.
The Detroit Speed 1966 Mustang Test Car was at the booth all weekend and generated an abundance of attention along with the Mustang Aluma-Frame, QUADRALink™, Deep Tubs and Subframe Connectors. This was the first time we brought a Mustang Test Car and parts out to the event and we were thrilled with the response we received.
For the past few years we have been presenting the Detroit Speed, Inc. "Modern Muscle" award. The "Modern Muscle" award is given to a participant whose vehicle best exemplifies modern suspension and handling built around a classic muscle car body. This year's winner was Nathan Powell and his 1966 Chevy II. Also at the show was Kevin Bowling and his Detroit Speed "Equipped" 1968 Firebird. The Firebird is equipped with our Hydroformed Subframe and many other goodies and won the Vintage Air award.
This is always a fantastic show for us in early September and we enjoy everyone who comes out to find out a little bit more about Detroit Speed. Congratulations to everyone behind the scenes at the Shades of the Past on 30 great years of hot rodding enjoyment!
We'll see you all next year.
