SpeedRay™ Front Suspension Kit - (1963-82 Corvette - Base Shocks - Fabricated Coilover Mounts - SBC / LS)

Product Code: 032070

The new Detroit Speed, Inc. C2/C3 SPEEDRAY™ front suspension has no compromises and exclusive Detroit Speed suspension geometry for superior handling and ride quality. It is available as a 100% bolt-on system or with a small amount of fabrication for a competition coilover option that allows faster spring changes. The system features ‘Detroit Tuned’ quick ratio power rack and pinion steering along with forged in the USA Detroit Speed aluminum uprights. The bolt-on powder coated cradle assembly improves suspension geometry, provides rigid mounting for the rack and pinion, and includes integrated tie down eyelets. DSE/JRi ‘Detroit Tuned’ Coilover shocks/springs allow for spring rate tuning and ride height adjustment. It also includes a splined sway bar with aluminum arms, composite bushings, powder coated tubular upper and lower control arms with Delrin™ bushings, forged offset upper control arm mounting brackets with caster tuner bushings to optimize suspension geometry and provide clearance for Gen V LT4 engines. The kit also includes Torrington bearings and a spanner tool for easy spring height adjustments. The body and engine do not need to be removed for installation of the SPEEDRAY™ front suspension.

Base Shock:
The DSE/JRi ‘Detroit Tuned’ base shock is a ‘pure blood pedigree’ racing shock in its most efficient form as a non-adjustable unit. Although
non-adjustable, it shares all the increased dynamic responses of all the JRi adjustable models while providing excellent ride quality on the street.

Spring Rate: 550lbs/in
Spring Free Length: 8in

Note: For competition applications, the DSE rack & pinion fluid transfer conversion kit will replace the hardlines on your DSE rack & pinion using -4 AN steel fittings. The hoses are Teflon lined to handle the high pressure demands of the steering system and come with pre-crimped stainless steel fittings to attach to the -4 AN fittings. See upgrades below.

SpeedRay Suspension

I bought the Detroit Speed Front SpeedRay and DECAlink rear suspension for my 1968 Corvette called Green Mamba. I run a lot of autocross and boy does Detroit Speed suspension work. I am amazed at how agile the Vette is. It turns in, hooks and goes. It is even has nice ride on the street too. I am very pleased with my selection of suspension for my Vette. I would highly recommend this suspension to anyone looking to improve their Corvette's handling.
